Cathy Vanderkooy is an Associate Consultant with MICA Learning at Knightsbridge in Vancouver.
She has been involved in the area of career consulting with Knightsbridge and its predecessors for 20 years. In 1994 she began her own consulting practice and services a variety of sectors including corporate, government, manufacturing, academic and non-profit organizations.
Cathy’s focus is providing career and life coaching to a diverse clientele in the pursuit and realization of personal, educational and career goals. She is a passionate and skilled facilitator who challenges people to realize their potential by exploring and clarifying their unique personality, strengths and experiences resulting in meaningful career and life choices. Cathy enjoys working with individuals, small groups and large audiences to facilitate leadership development in the areas of interpersonal communication, team building, decision-making and conflict management. Certifications include Myers Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) and Emotional Intelligence.
Other contracts include working with business grads and undergrads at UBC and SFU, and as a Senior Sensei with Lean Sensei International.
Cathy earned a BA in Speech Communications from Washington State University and an AAS degree in Deaf Interpreting from Seattle Community College. Previous careers include sign language interpreter, ESL teacher at the university level in China, sign language teacher at the community college level. She is currently pursuing a Master degree in Spiritual Formation.
