Gilles Belanger

Gilles Bélanger is an Associate Consultant with MICA Learning at Knightsbridge in Montréal.

Gilles is a senior bilingual consultant and trainer in the areas of management and professional effectiveness. He has worked with managers at all levels, as well as technical and non-technical personnel, since 1983.

Prior to becoming a consultant, Gilles spent 23 years with IBM, where he held various technical, non-technical and management positions, the last 10 years of which he worked as an Advisory Instructor in the IBM Management Institute. Before joining IBM, Gilles worked for 4 years at Canadair Ltd. as a Tool Designer.

Over the years, Gilles has developed and facilitated a number of seminars in the fields of Performance Management and Coaching, Interpersonal Communication, Informal Influence, Win-Win Negotiations, Time Management, Presentation Techniques, and Customer Approach. He favours an interactive and participative approach and focuses on practical tools and techniques that participants can take back and apply to work. His style is relaxed and open and he enjoys working with people to help them be more confident and productive back at work.

In addition to gaining extensive experience in the training field, Gilles has acquired practical experience in the areas of Management, Sales, Marketing, Computing Centre Operations and Industrial Manufacturing. He has taught across Canada as well as in Australia, South-East Asia, Latin America and in the Caribbean. During his career, he has dealt with various industries such as Banking, Insurance, Communications, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, and Aeronautics as well as various levels of Government.

Gilles holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA-Honours) and a Certificate in Organizational Communications from l’Université du Québec in Montréal. He is also a graduate from l’Institut Aérotechnique du Québec.
